VOA's Got Talent!

VOA's Got Talent!

Shoppers and staff at our Thrift Store in Burton were greeted with a welcome treat yesterday evening, and ended up being part of an internet phenomenon.

Genavieve Linkowski stopped in to do some shopping with her mother and siblings. While waiting for them to wrap up, she generously shared her musical talents us by singing and playing on one of our donated pianos.

Her beautiful song echoed through the store, drawing passers-by to listen and record her. One of these videos has since gone viral. Click here to see it!

Genavieve is the oldest of nine and her mother is expecting again. Genavieve's younger sister is also a singer while her other siblings have talents in gymnastics, robotics and more.

At Volunteers of America we have a mission to uplift all people and we are thankful to Genavieve for helping us to warm the hearts of our patrons. Our thrift stores not only provide a great resource to vulnerable families in need of high quality budget friendly clothing, but the funds raised through these stores provides services to homeless veterans, seniors, and families across our state.

We are rooting for Genavieve as she tries out to compete on the Voice and look forward to seeing her and her family visit us again soon.
