Holidays of Hope 2019

  • Thank you!

    A celebration of Hope.

Time can be tricky. It can seem to pass by so slow. But within the blink of an eye, you’re 10 years older and your children are graduating high school and headed off to college. Time can be scary because of this. But, time is even scarier for homeless veterans living on the street in the winter.

-Alex Brodrick, President & CEO

Thank you to all of you who joined us at this year’s Holidays of Hope! It was wonderful to see so many VOA friends and family in the same room. We joined together at the Henry Ford Museum, somewhere that honors the past and where we came from to celebrate where we are now. They work to celebrate a moment in time.

Time can be tricky. It can seem to pass by so slow. But within the blink of an eye, you’re 10 years older and your children are graduating high school and headed off to college.

Time can be scary because of this. But, time is even scarier for homeless veterans living on the street in the winter.

Will it warm up today? Will the sun come out? Will I get lunch? I haven’t eaten in days. I hope the warming shelter is open. Looks like I don’t have enough to take the bus to the VA today. Maybe someone will stop to help me. I never thought I would be here - or homeless.

The truth is, we came together for a serious reason - to help our most vulnerable neighbors… homeless veterans, frail seniors, poor families. And that’s why the event was also a celebration: your spirit of giving, your willingness to take a moment of time to support those who need it most.

Thank you for your support toward our work providing essential, life-changing services for veterans, seniors and families. We are proud to serve with you and are glad to acknowledge your good hearts.
