Your name: Terry T. Taylor, Sr.

Your role at Volunteers of America Michigan: Operations Manager for the Detroit Veterans Housing Program.

What brought you to this position? I wanted to work with Veterans and show my appreciation for the sacrifices they made for us. I have been with Volunteers of America Michigan for over three years now and recently transistioned into my new role.

What is your biggest takeaway from working with Volunteers of America Michigan? My biggest takeaway is the joy I get when we can truly make a difference in a veteran’s life.

What is your biggest challenge in this position? Finding safe housing for all of our veterans. The market in Detroit is tough, especially for someone recovering from homelessness.

Where is your dream vacation spot? Hawaii!

What is your favorite book? I really don’t have a favorite book, but Langston Hughes is my favorite Author.

How do you spend your time outside of the office? Being with family and friends fills most of my spare time.
