Your name: Kathy Adams

Your role at Volunteers of America Michigan: Office Manager at Heritage Park Senior Village.

What brought you to this position? About four years ago, I was looking to work in the housing industry but not in real estate.

What is your biggest takeaway from working with Volunteers of America Michigan? Your job is more than a pay check. For years I chased the money and then I realized I didn’t want to do that anymore. So I started looking for a job to make a difference. I was able to stay in the housing industry and hopefully make an impact.

What is your biggest challenge in this position? My biggest challenge is not being able to do everything the residents ask.

Where is your dream vacation spot? Camping on Lake Michigan.

What is your favorite book? “The Green Mile” by Stephen King. The movie was good also.

How do you spend your time outside of the office? Baseball with the grandkids, walking, camping.
