Your name: Dan Anderson

Your role at Volunteers of America Michigan: Senior Lot Manager, Auto Sales

What brought you to this position? Eleven years ago, I was searching for employment in the automotive repair field. I found an ad in the paper for a mechanic position with Volunteers of America Michigan and decided to apply. Every day I am thankful that I did, I love my job and wouldn’t be here if I didn’t.

What is your biggest takeaway from working with Volunteers of America Michigan? The knowledge I have accumulated while working for Volunteers of America Michigan cannot compare to my experiences at other jobs. I have learned so much from my time here.

What is your biggest challenge in this position? My biggest challenge would be balancing my work life and my home life.

Where is your dream vacation spot? Anywhere I can find the ocean, sand, and sun!

What is your favorite book? I don’t have a favorite book necessarily, but more of a genre. I love anything with information, college textbooks, how to on gardening, etc.

How do you spend your time outside of the office? Spending time with my beautiful wife Janet and our five children! Kenz is 11, Leila is 8, Tyler is 7, and our twin sons Wyatt and Landen are 1 1/2 years old.
